Pre-Symposium tour
The tour will start in Auckland with a visit to HortResearch, Mt Albert Research Centre at 4.00pm on Friday 17 February, this will include a welcome and a tour of the laboratories. On the Saturday morning, we will leave Auckland, driving south to the vegetable and fruit production area of Pukekohe with lunch at a country restaurant and winery. During the afternoon further visits will be made to places of interest on the way to our accommodation for two nights in Mount Maunganui, in the Bay of Plenty.
On Sunday, visits will be made to kiwifruit and avocado orchards in the Bay of Plenty with lunch and wine tasting at a leading winery. On Monday, we will travel through the fertile area of the Bay of Plenty visiting post-harvest facilities and tourist attractions on the way to the conference venue at Rotorua.
The cost of $695 includes accommodation in Auckland close to the airport on the Friday night, two nights accommodation in Mount Maunganui and all meals from Friday evening through to Monday lunch.
