Poster Guidelines

Posters will be displayed on panels that are 1.2 m wide and 2.3 m high.  The panels are finished in grey, Velcro-sensitive material.  Velcro dots can be stuck to the back of your poster - these will be supplied to make mounting your poster easy.

Your poster can be up to a maximum of 1.0 m wide and 2 m tall, i.e., with the long axis vertical and the short axis horizontal (portrait orientation).

At the top of your poster include the title, the author(s) and where the work was performed (organisation, city and country).

We suggest that it will be easier for delegates to view your poster if the lettering of the title is at least 2.5 cm high.  Including a photograph of the presenting author helps delegates to identify the right person to talk to or question.

The smallest lettering on the poster should be no less than 10 mm high.  Illustrations should be visible from a 1m viewing distance.  Keep the layout as simple as possible and avoid including too much information.

We suggest that you bring at least 20 A4 copies of your poster or notes about the project to give to interested delegates.

We will send you instructions as to the setting up of posters later.  However, we expect all posters to be on display in the poster rooms for the duration of the symposium.  We are providing extra long morning, lunch and afternoon tea breaks to encourage poster viewing.

All submitted and presented oral papers and posters will be published in Acta Horticulturae - a poster ranks equally with a submitted oral paper. We regret that because of the costs involved, we can publish only one contribution from each person paying a registration fee.  We will consider publication of additional contributions if a small extra fee is paid to cover the additional printing costs. We would be happy to discuss the additional costs with you.   Please note that the Instructions to Authors can be found on the ISHS website, www.ishs.org/acta/index.htm
